A double dozen confirmed in Abergavenny
Twenty-four people from four churches in Abergavenny were confirmed by Bishop Dominic at a packed service in mid-December. Four of the candidates – three youngsters and one adult – were also baptised. The twelve young people and twelve adults, whose ages spanned nearly seven decades, were from St Peter’s, Llanwenarth Citra, and Abergavenny churches Holy Trinity, Christchurch and St Mary’s Priory Church, where the service was held.
Tracking down the candidates’ baptismal records was a world-wide exercise, with contact being made, among others, with a tiny Tabernacle in mid-Wales, a city-centre Roman Catholic Church, and an evangelical church in Springs, South Africa.
