Gaza Dental Clinic: A letter from the Archdeacons
Dear Friends
You will perhaps already know that the Mobile Dental Clinic that serves the poorest communities in Gaza City is in need of urgent funds if it is to continue its work. It would be a great shame if this vital work was to founder after all it has achieved; and against the greatest of odds. As your Archdeacons we support this appeal and ask if you would be prepared to donate TWO POUNDS EACH – less than the cost of a tube of decent toothpaste or a good quality toothbrush - to help secure a future for this vital work of compassion?
The money you collect can be sent directly to Mrs Louise Davies, Church in Wales Office, 39, Cathedral Road, Cardiff. CF11 9XF. Cheques should be made payable to ‘Church in Wales Jubilee Fund’. Please put a note saying which Parish in the Diocese of Monmouth the money comes from.
We are confident of the generosity of our Diocese and we are sure that there will be a heartfelt response to our request.
Archdeacon Glyndwr Hackett, Archdeacon Richard Pain
Shopping online helps Gaza Clinic
You can also help people in Gaza receive vital dental care simply by shopping online this Christmas. If you go to
www.easyfundraising.org.uk/causes/ciwjf
and sign up before you start shopping, you can donate to the mobile dental clinic without spending a penny extra. The Fund gets a cut of the profits from the shops – and with more than 2,000 of the UK’s best known retailers online there is plenty of choice.
The Archdeacon of Margam, Philip Morris, who coordinates the Jubilee Fund, says, “This dental clinic is completely funded by the Jubilee Fund. We need £26,000 this year to enable the Near East Council of Churches to keep it running. Without our support, 70,000 people in Gaza will be denied dental care. Please ask your parish, friends and family to shop online and donate by going to easyfundraising.org.uk.”
