The Dean
Dr Richard Fenwick was born in the City of Cardiff. After studying at Lampeter and then Cambridge he was ordained by Bishop T.M Hughes in 1968, subsequently serving in the dioceses of Llandaff in both Skewen and Penarth. He specialised in Music and Liturgy with a degree in Music at Trinity College, Dublin and subsequently served over a twenty-six year period in England. He was a Minor Canon at Rochester Cathedral and St Paul's Cathedral. He them moved on to be Vicar of Ruislip for eight years when he moved on to be Residentiary Precentor and Sub-Dean of Guildford Cathedral. In 1997 he moved back home here to South Wales. Dedicated to the Welsh Church and the Welsh Language, he is especially proud that during his time as Dean the Cathedral served for a time as the Metropolitan Cathedral of the Province.
