From M4 junction 27 follow "Newport/Town Centre" signs. At the next roundabout take 2nd exit. Continue along this road (past two sets of traffic lights) until you see St Woolos Hospital on the right. At the shops, follow the one-way system around the Cathedral. There is limited on-street parking here.
