DRAGONS  & JAZZ AT THE CATHEDRAL

Newport Cathedral has joined in the Ryder Cup excitement with one of the city's superdragons taking up residence on the piazza outside the Cathedral. The Wetlands Dragon was done by artist Tom Brown is one of 30 superdragons  to appear around the City between now and October 27th as the City hosts the 2010 Ryder Cup Golf event.
The Cathedral will also host a Jazz Concert performed by young musicians from across South East Wales on Thursday, September 30th.

KNIGHTSBRIDGE COMES TO ST WOOLOS

For the 5th year running the Cathedral is holding a gala evening of music sung by its renown choir, interspersed with seasonal readings read by local celebrities. Following the Concert there will be a Champagne Reception. Proceeds from the event on Thursday, November 25th at 7pm will go towards the one million pounds needed to restore the cathedral roof.

Unless otherwise stated all proceeds are for the Cathedral Emergency Campaign. There is a retiring collection at each of the Saturday Noon Recitals.

150 YEARS OF SERVICE

The funeral directors Tovey Bros will celebrate 150 years of service to the community with a special service in the Cathedral at 2.30 p.m. on Saturday 16th October.         

CONFIRMATION 2010

The Confirmation Service in the Cathedral will be held on November 17th at 6.00 p.m.
