John says: As Parish Development Adviser it is my job to work with parishes in any way which will help to stimulate imagination for mission and growth. This has included visits to PCCs to lead discussions, vision-building, specific training events, and of course Sunday preaching on mission and evangelism. I have also led Alpha courses, Awaydays and retreats and quiet days.
At the moment my main agenda is to help parishes in their Mission Action Planning, based on the material in the MAPping book Building God’s Kingdom.
I also hold the brief for Stewardship, and I am available to help parishes think about their financial giving, again through preaching and teaching, PCC visits, and so on. The leaflet for clergy and preachers called Teaching Stewardship is available for download here.
