using rss with internet explorer 7
If you don’t know what version of Internet Explorer you have, go to the Help menu (at the top of your screen, or possibly accessed via a little >> symbol at the top right-hand corner) and select "About Internet Explorer". If you don’t have version 7, then you can go to www.microsoft.com and download it for free (so long as you have a genuine copy of Windows XP/Vista).
- If a page has an RSS feed available, it will appear as an icon in the toolbar at the top of the page (as shown). To subscribe to this feed, click on this icon.

- You will then see the contents of the feed. If you can subscribe to this feed, there will be a yellow box at the top of the screen, and an option to “Subscribe to this feed” (as shown). Click on the “Subscribe to this feed” option.

- You will then see a box like the one shown below. You can alter the name of the feed if it doesn’t describe the content clearly enough, and you can create new folders to organise your feeds. For the moment, we suggest you simply click “Subscribe” at the bottom.

- That’s it – you’re now subscribed to an RSS feed. Anytime that you want to check the RSS feed, click on the Yellow Star (usually in the top left-hand corner of your screen), and select the “Feeds” button as shown in the screenshot. If you hover your mouse over the feed, it will tell you how many updates have been made since you last checked, and you can click on the feed to see it.
